Unfortunately we had to bring my dad to the hospital after being found in the street by bystanders after falling down concrete stairs We brought him up to the hospital to be checked over and was seen straight away by a nurse who introduced herself as laura. My dad was getting upset and wanting to just go home and go to bed and was adamant that he didn’t want to stay. The nurse spent time with us and told him how important it was that he stayed and be examined by the doctor which he agreed to do. Tests were quickly carried out at the triaging area bloods and a heart monitor was done. We then went round to see the doctor mel who was equally as lovely and listened to our concerns. A cat scan was ordered and carried out which showed bruising and a small bleed to the brain. The dr fully explained that my dad would have to come into hospital for some time. We were all very worried but the staff was very attentive and ensuring We were all ok not just dad. After watching my dad for a few hours we were transferred by friendly porting staff to the ward where he continued his period of observation.
After a few days on the ward my dad got discharged home after being well looked after by your team of nursing staff and drs who are all a credit to the hospital. from start to finish staff have been outstanding, the care received was of a very high standard a&e and the assessment unit!!
