My experience at the Royal London has been very mixed. The Antenatal Clinic is very busy and chaotic. While some staff members have been lovely, there has also been some very rude ones. I have had my appointments cancelled without notification and erroneous information on my scans. I often leave feeling like I've been shuffled around and have no understanding of what's happened and what should happen next.
My experience giving birth wasn't a great start with a grumpy midwife and a very rude Head of Midwives. However once they switched shifts, midwife and student midwife were absolutely wonderful – very encouraging and support. The obstetrics team was also very professional – always explaining to me what was happening, what my options were and very respectful of my wishes.
I paid for an amenity room which was great because that meant my husband could stay with me. The nurses and midwives were lovely. The food wasn't great.
"Mixed natal experience – depends on who you get"
