Hello All,
Last Sunday night I became severely distressed and self injured using a razor blade many times.
The next day I woke up in pain and extreme discomfort with my arm swollen and burning and feeling nauseous and feverish. After scheduled visit from my CPN Tim, we decided to ring my local GP at Church St, Orrell to see the nurse for dressings.
The phone call was made at 10.10AM and I saw the nurse at 10.50AM. The receptionist I spoke to to was pleasant, polite and caring and the nurse I saw was caring, reassuring and very decent with me which makes such a change after some of the experiences I have had over recent years.
The nurse was concerned that my arm was infected and fetched a GP without delay. I received a prescription for antibiotics with no fuss, hassle or lecturing.
I would like to commend recpetionist, nurse and GP for a truly caring attitude to what is commonly a very stigmatised condition.
I left the surgery feeling reassured, cared for and dare I say it - almost content.
Thank you all
"Amazing service from my local GP Surgery"
