"Gone downhill!"

About: Derby Road Health Centre

This surgery has gone downhill since the doctor left. Appointments are no longer available on the same day unless urgent so are now booked 6 days in advance. Trying to get an urgent appointment is ridiculous because if your having severe symptoms you obviously would be going to A&E but less severe you’d call your doctor but they seem to have an attitude to anyone who’s not feeling that severe that you’d take yourself to the hospital. Your now made to feel that your just over exaggerating & are able to wait 6 days for a routine. I personally think they should list what warrants an urgent GP appointment. I considered leaving when the doctor did Just after Christmas and now in August am contemplating it now more than ever! There are a few nice doctors there, then you get Doctors that make you feel like you’ve completely wasted their time and NHS time and money by attending your appointment. This GPsurgery is failing massively I understand the NHS have limited rescources including money, appointments and doctors but your dealing with peoples health and well-being I don’t believe it’s something that you can afford to fail on! If your someone that visits the doctors once in a blue moon then I’d say this is a suitable surgery to join however if your poorly regularly and have a number of chronic illnesses and conditions then DONT!

We are extremely disappointed that you feel the surgery has not met your expectations; the health and well being of patients is our priority and we are continually striving to improve our practices and patient experience. There are huge presures on GP practices to provide appointments for an ever increasing number of patients; we regularly review our appointment system and whenever and wherever possible, we adapt the service to meet the needs of patients.

If you would like a personal response to the issues you have raised, please do not hesitate to contact the practice manager at the surgery.
