(as the patient),

I attended the Thurrock Inclusion centre for counselling for my PTSD.

The whole service was excellent from the start. The waiting room was very comfortable and had a lovely atmosphere which helped me to relax. The staff were very helpful and friendly. My counsellor James was very kind and supportive. He targeted the therapy at my fears and helped and showed ways to overcome them. Without his help I wouldn't be where I am today. I have been able to face my fears through homework and counselling. I know that I will never be completely the same person I was before the car accident, but I now have coping methods to help me deal with stressful and anxious situations. This is a very vital service that I feel should be available to all the people who are struggling on a day to day basis.

Thank you for your very positive feedback about the service, your therapist and your treatment. Its ever so important for our wider community to hear of clients individual experiences, such as yours, and in your own words - not from the therapist..........

You mention you have learned a lot and by putting these new skills into practice you are in a new place. I'm so pleased to hear you say that and I hope you continue to grow and develop with these skills.

Many people who have completed treatment find some of the courses at the Recovery College are a great way to both consolidate their new skills and to explore the next steps.
