"A huge thanks to all on Ward 8"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

On 6th August I was admitted for a total knee replacement and spent my time on Ward 8.

I was very apprehensive and had travelled from Carlisle with my fiancée for my operation.

I am extremely thankful to all the ward staff, especially the nurses on night shift who went above and beyond to help control my pain and get me a good nights sleep. I was kept informed throughout my short stay and was encouraged to help myself get up and about to enable me to return home.

I would definitely recommend this hospital for their level of care and the excellent staff. Thankyou to my surgeon and anaesthetist too. You were all outstanding and made me feel safe and listened to.

Many thanks for the review. I’m delighted that you feel the trip over from Cumbria was so worthwhile. I love your acknowledgement of the importance of feeling safe AND listened to whilst in hospital - it’s great to hear we got this spot on for you. I hope the recovery at home is going equally well - do let us know if there’s anything you need to help with that ?
