"Left with a possible broken wrist"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Accident and emergency King's Mill Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I attended A+E with a possible broken wrist, had an x-ray and unfortunately it wasn't clear whether it was broken or not.

The Dr told me to wear a splint and see the fracture clinic in 2 weeks time.

When I went to make the appointment I was informed I had to have the next available appointment and then I could ring the next day and rearrange this.

I have phoned to rearrange to be told that I need to be seen in clinic within 3 days so I explained I am due to go on holiday so would need an appointment before then. I was then told I couldn't be seen before and would need to re-refer myself after my holiday through A+E again.

So now I am left with a possible broken wrist to go on holiday with.

I realise appointments aren't always available straight away but to keep being told different things and still not know if my wrist is broken or not is not acceptable.
