When I have actually seen a Dr/Nurse I have been treated well and looked after, there was an occasion when I had to ask several times for an appointment with a Dr who then told me my symptoms would clear up within 3 days when of course it didn't. Having said that the Dr I spoke to after was extremely helpful and reassuring.
Some of the receptionists can be quite rude which I find unacceptable as I currently work in a GP surgery myself and know the expectations of reception staff.
I have been on medication since I was 18 months old for a kidney condition. Trying to order medication prescribed by the hospital is a joke. I ordered it on Friday and it has taken 4 working days for this to be sorted - only after I rang on Tuesday. I shouldn't have to chase my medication in this way. Every-time I come to order a prescription I seem to have some kind of issue. To top it off the Receptionist told me that something hadn't been issued when I could see from the app that it had - apparently it had been issued and then cancelled they then proceeded to tell me I hadn't had it for a year which was incorrect. I don't appreciate being called a liar.
Although I appreciate that GP surgeries are often busy and everyone can be under a lot of pressure I do feel that there needs to be some consideration of how people are being spoken to.
Nevertheless, when I have managed to get an appointment/speak to a DR or a Nurse I have been satisfied; but feel that may need to move surgeries soon due to constant issues with life saving medication.
