"Receptionists are utterly awful in the minor..."

About: Cumberland Centre

receptionist on the minor injury not only subtly tried to belittle me but told me how silly I was verbally to my face. I value the nhs and other than when being an infant have never depended on the services bar the minimum!

Now going home in tears and in severe pain, I will never return. I figured it was supposed to be in place to take the load off of our main hospital and tend to minor injuries. Yes it was clean and yes you could buy a bottle of water but the staff on reception were appalling to someone they could see was in a lot of pain (in tears). I did not meet any of the medical staff but I’m positive they do an impressive and amazing service at the centre.

The MIU is no longer part of Livewell Southwest but I have been in touch with the service who have asked me to post the following response:

I am very sorry to hear this and I can only apologise that this is how the receptionist came over.

Our receptionists are competent and usually caring in their approach to patients who are booking in, so I am surprised to read this report.

I am very concerned about this feedback and intend to investigate this matter further. Unfortunately since this post is anonymous, I am unable to identify the member of staff concerned, so I would urge you to get in touch with me via the PALS service 01752 439884.

Finally, I do hope that you have been able to access appropriate help and are no longer in pain.

Kind regards,

Janet Warner
