"Good endoscopy at Stepping Hill"

I would just like to offer comfort to any patient about to have an endoscopy procedure.

My wife was booked for a gastroscopy, and was so nervous about the procedure that she had not slept for several nights. A fellow patient had suffered migraines with the worry of having the same procedure.

When I dropped my wife at the hospital, I don’t know who was the most nervous, her or me. I left the hospital and returned in two hours, only to see her laughing and joking with the staff. She had been sedated, but conscious throughout.

In all honesty, she could not see what all the fuss was about, and said that she would have no problems with having the procedure in the future.

There is a lot of rubbish spoken by people that seem to get a thrill out of spreading mischief. Please everybody just relax, there is nothing to worry about.

We would like to thank all the staff at the Endosopy unit at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. They could not have been more professional and understanding.
