"Very impressed!"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ear, Nose and Throat

As a young girl, of 17, I was obviously nervous & scared about staying at the hospital on my own for many nights.

However, the staff, in particular: the Student Nurse & Student WAS FANTASTIC! As well as other staff members. They all made me feel safe, all had a chat with me to make sure that I was calm, relaxed and comfortable.

The only faults I had was the fact that there was a very long waiting time in eye casualty & the fact I had my blind down in my room, due to the corridor lighting being far too bright for me (as I had a bad eye!), a cleaner informed me that it must stay up...

The best bit of my experience was when I had missed dinner on my first night but a member of staff rushed off & made me some spaghetti on toast as she didn’t want me to go without.

All stay were very attentive & caring towards everyone, whenever we needed them, they were there! Could not fault any of the hard work they do!

Even when I didn’t want to eat as I had been having eye drops throughout the whole night & was tired, the dinner lady ensured that I had 2 lots of jacket potato as she saw I was enjoying it! This to me is FANTASTIC customer care!

Thank you for getting in touch and sharing your experience of our Eye, Ear Nose and Throat service.

I’m sorry to hear about your long wait in Eye Casualty and that the issue with the blind led to some discomfort for you. It is important that we listen to feedback from our patients and we have taken your comments on board. I’ve shared your feedback – including your praise for staff and the areas in which we can do better – with relevant teams.
