"Unappetising food at North Staffs RI"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

(as the patient),

I have had two brief spells in the North Staffs Royal Infirmary. No complaints at all about the medical care I received, but very unhappy with the food provision for 3 reasons:-

1) Delays in finding vegetarian food for me, and the impression that I was being awkward in requesting it.

2) Food generally unappetising to the extent that I found it preferable to be "nil by mouth"!

3) Due to the way in which food provision is procured, the food came from South Wales when I think it would be more efficient and more environmentally sound if it was procured locally, as well as creating business and employment for local suppliers. This annoyed me far more than the poor quality of the food.

I made a complaint, but although I got a response, I felt it was very much a token response with no meaningful answers given and I gave up.

Dear Rebellious Jukebox

I am sorry that you found that the food fell below standard. I can see that you have raised your complaint with the hospital and received a response.

If you would like to talk to someone about the next stages, please contact the PALS department at the PCT on 0800 030 4563.

Thank you for your feedback

Regards

Vicki Graham
