"Outstanding treatment from GPs"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran Scottish Ambulance Service / Patient Transport Service

(as the patient),

I attend my doctors surgery the Kilwinning Medical Practice on a regular basis, due to suffering from various health issues. After attending   the surgery in recent days   with chest pain, I was advised that I would have to go into hospital. For what ever reason there was a delay on the ambulance arriving at the surgery. However, the outstanding treatment that I received from the GPS in the practice Dr Pollock, Dr Gardnier, Dr White, practice nurse and others was without a shadow of a doubt totally amazing team work. In waiting for the ambulance I was given a nebulizer, ECG and a cannula was inserted to give pain relief, whilst at the same time,   they continued to reasure and keep me calm. Big thanks to all at Kilwinning medical practice.

Dear 711user,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on CareOpinion. I am glad to read that the care provided to you by our partners in General Practice was so good. Being made to feel re-assured and safe is proven to help while in any kind of clinical distress. I would like to look into the reason for the delay in a resource being sent to take you to hospital if you would like.

If you want, you can email me at scotamb.feedback@nhs.net. If you could possibly provide your name along with a brief timeline of events I can source this call and establish if there is any learning we can take from it.

I hope you are on the road to a full recovery and wish you all the best.

Kind Regards

Alan

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear 711user,

I am sorry you were unwell enough to need to be taken to hospital, but I am very pleased to hear how well the ambulance service and KMP catered for your needs. I will be very happy to pass your thanks to the GPs and the practice manager and they will know how much it meant to you. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us on Care Opinion.

I really hope you are on the road to recovery.

Best wishes,

Eunice
