"Hull Eye Hospital as an outpatient"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary / Ophthalmology

I have been an outpatient here for several years now, for glaucoma monitoring and for cateract removals. Today I had a film over a replacement lens removed with laser treatment. At every visit I have been so impressed by the standard of care and treatment displayed, the professionalism of all the staff at all levels, and the sheer efficiency with which the department of ophthalmology is run.

I'm sure there are times when there are delays and backlogs, but I also know from circumstances when I have been amongst those waiting for treatment that quite rightly emergencies have to take precedence. Today, as is usually the case on my clinic visits, I was dealt with promptly and with the courtesy that seems to be the norm.

I was in, treated and out again within an hour, having had the procedures explained adnd carried out so that here I am at home, with all traces of the film gone and vision returned to normal. Thank you to all the staff who dealt with me, today and on my previous visits.
