What could be improved

The Orthopaedic consultant attempted to fix a neck of femur fracture with screws in a mentally ill pensioner. This caused months of agony as the bone failed to heal. This was done with limited consultation. The correct procedure would have been a hip replacement in the first place. Considered a formal complaint to the GMC, but was dissuaded by the patient.
