I suffer from panic attacks, agoraphobia and white coat syndrome! Obviously not a lot going for me in that department😳
However what department has a lot going for them is the Endoscopy department.
Yesterday I had to have a colonoscopy.
I was lucky I had my amazing daughter coming with me.
However I am not going to say it was a breeze because of what I have and obviously the proceedure it wasn't .
So why am I writing this.
Firstly to help people that aren't as lucky as me with my daughter.
The staff. From start to finish are just amazing.
(Remember I am speaking from my experience and what I saw happening to others) they are sympathetic to all your needs.
They explain everything so no scary surprises.
You are not a NHS number you are a person who has individual needs. The colonoscopy itself was not what I thought.
In my minds eye the camera was going to be attached to a garden hose! 😂.
It's not and you are treated always with dignity.
So please tell the amazing staff if you are concerned they will be there for you!
So for all going through it I hope this helps.
Once again thank you to all in that department.
Oh and goodness they do make a good cup of tea.
Tea and sympathy what more could you ask for!
