"Mixed sex wards at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Medical admissions and Marham Ward were both mixed sex.

Although there were separate male and female bays, the bays were open to the corridor leading to toilets and bathrooms such that patients in bed were in full view of patients of opposite gender going to and from those facilities.

I awoke one night to find a male patient by my bed - he seemed to have been confused and wandered into the female bay.
