"Attending A&E to see orthopaedic team ,..."

I have had an amazing experience at The William Harvey A&E this afternoon and felt that I wanted to compliment all of the staff that I came in contact with and the efficient and exceptional care I relieved.

I was referred by my GP this afternoon. I had a total knee replacement on the 24th June '18, under the care if a surgeon.

Upon denning my physiotherapist this morning, she felt concerned that I may have an infection in the new knee joint. The same was felt by my GP. On contacting the on call orthopaedic team, they recommended that I attend the Harvey as soon as possible for a review of my new knee joint.

I arrived at the department at 16.15, and was booked in and waited in the minor injury area, very quickly I was seen and sent for an X-ray, having to wait just ten minutes, straight back to minor injuries where I was seen immediately by a consultant and his colleague , a blood test was taken at this point also.

The reassurance I was given was first class, and all of the staff members I was in contact with were incredibly professional , understanding , informative and respectful.

My experience lasted less than an hour, when I was discharged.

Bad press can sometimes be the only press you may hear, but I cannot praise your department enough. And would want all of them to be made aware of this praise.

Especially, as an retired health professional as we can tend to be hyper critical !
