I arrived at 6am on 30 July with serious skin complaint. Reception was good (only 3 waiting) but the initial nurse examination was very abrupt. After examination she said I may be contagous and sent me to an isolated cubical. After 30 minutes my husband asked status and was told my seeing a dermatology specialist could take another 5 hours! I thought her attitude and lack of communication was very poor.
After two hours I had blood check by a nurse who was very good. I was then taken to the dermatology unit and initial checks taken. I then had to wait a further 5 hours because only one dermatologist was on duty at the hospital. When I saw him he was brilliant and friendly and said had taken time out from lunch break to see me.
Many thanks to 5 star consultant, one star to reception nurse and one star to organisation of dermatologist cover.
