What I liked
I would like to send my thanks and appreciation for the very professional and efficient way in which I was treated during my recent short stay in Ward 107 at Frenchay ( 22/11 to 23/11) as a result of a suspected heart problem.
All the staff I encountered, without exception, appeared to show an attitude and level of commitment to their work that that I thought was commendable and which ran contrary to that which might be expected from listening to the normal media coverage of hospital performance. Despite having a busy ward the nurse I first met took the trouble to contact the hospital car park to make sure my car wasn’t booked when my stay was longer than expected and a ward assistant provided some books without being asked when it looked like I might run out of reading material. These are just two examples of the many things I noticed that showed to me, at least, what an admirable approach the staff have to their work.
What could be improved
Having consistency of doctor/consultant rather than my case being handled by a succession of both - this didn't create any problems but felt a bit disjointed
Anything else?
Very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff and the level of thoroughness in their work.
