"Good diabetes care in my eighties"

I am 83 & have had diabetes for twenty years, with no significant problems, thanks to regular checks by the NHS, but at my last review in March foot ulcers were detected.

I have been greatly impressed by the attention I have received for this, & the level of care from podiatrists; I had not previously understood the medical expertise needed by them, & found they possessed a level of skill & knowledge equal to that of other high level medical professionals.

Similarly, when found to have macular degeneration in an eye, the treatment from the eye hospital, & the care from its staff, was extraordinary in its quality.
