"All of the maternity services that I received were..."

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

What I liked

The high standard of care that I received throughout my stay and all of the outstanding attitudes of all of the maternity/midwives/obstetricians/care staff.

What could be improved

Nothing, I couldn't have wished for a better labour experience

Anything else?

After a check up with the Silver Star unit I was admitted to the delivery ward to be induced. The midwives and students who coached me through my labour were brilliant, I couldn't have done it without them. I was keen to avoid medical intervention with my labour so when the doctor said that I had 20 mins to push the baby out. From no where, another midwife appeared and got me on to the birthing stool and coached me how to push the baby out. I did it in 20 mins but I couldn't have achieved this without the assistance I received from the brilliant midwives. I had to stay in hospital on the 5th floor and again the support and level of care I received was outstanding. I interacted with many different student and qualified midwives and they all helped me in different ways (breastfeeding, winding - I am a new mother so I was totally freaked out). I left the hospital feeling confident in how to look after my baby.

Thank you for these very kind comments, which have been passed to the management of Maternity Services at the John Radcliffe Hospital to be shared with staff.
