"Telephone number ???"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

If you send a letter to invite a patient to arrange an appointment and state "please telephone the number at the top of this letter" it would be a useful to actually put a phone number on the letter. Just had to look up the main hospital number on line, then wait to be transferred.

I am sorry that you received a letter that did not show the telephone number to call. I am not surprised that this caused frustration and inconvenience when you needed to communicate with the hospital and I apologise for this.

I will ensure that the appropriate personnel are made aware of this so that they can remind staff to include the telephone number and check that it is shown on our letters.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
