"Hot!"

About: County Practice

Generally a good Surgery with no problems.

However, I visited a couple of weeks ago and again on Friday and noticed the reception team have an air con unit in the reception area as obviously it is extremely hot at the moment and the Surgery clearly has no built in air con. After sitting in the waiting room getting gradually hotter and hotter and actually feeling quite ill and faint, I eventually realised that the air con unit they were using had the outlet pipe running out of the reception hatch into the waiting room and this was letting out hot air!! No wonder I was getting hotter and feeling quite ill. What an absolutely inconsiderate thing to do to ill patients in weather like this. I understand that they need cooling down but a simple fan would do, or an alternative placing of the air con unit. I'm surprised you don't get more people collapse in the waiting room from the heat.

I think the placement or usage of this needs to be looked into immediately.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for your comment and bringing this to our attention. I have checked the aircon unit and it most certainly does blow out hot air. We have now moved this unit to a more suitable place in our reception area. We have a duty care to try and look after our staff and patients in this extremely hot weather. Practice Manager.
