"Administrative issues with appointments"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had an  operation on my foot, surgeon was first class. I was advised to have stitches out in two weeks. You cancelled twice and I had stitches removed after five weeks. This is unacceptable putting recovery at risk.

Stitches were removed last week. I was advised that the implants are to be removed in two weeks. I went to the desk to book the appointment. I was told that the supervisor had to make the appointment.

I phoned 01296 315304 four days after the stitches were removed to follow up making appointment. I was told to phone a second number. I phoned this number. It was not picked up after six and half minutes.

I phoned the second number again the next day. It was again not picked up after six and half minutes. I phoned 01296 315304 who again directed me to the non responsive number. I explained what had happened and the operator said they would email the office concerned and get them to contact me. Still no response.

Does this mean that the work performed by the surgeon is put at risk due to administration failure?
