Called at 10.45 am today, phone was answered within a couple of minutes. Went through script with call handler, advised someone would call me back within 6 hours as it wasn't an urgent problem. Gave call handler my mobile & landline, he advised the call back would be first on the mobile, then landline if no answer.
Got a callback at 3pm on the landline when I was out. No call to mobile. My husband took the call, advised I was out and offered mobile number to the doctor. The doctor refused to take it & told my husband that if I still needed help to call 111 again & start over.
Unfortunately the 111 line is the only alternative to 999 in this area & to be fair I have used it in the past & it was good but not this time. Appalling, more like.
