I was recently referred by my GP to the Skin and Cosmetric Surgery Unit at County Hospital as a consequence of a small lesion on my head.
My consultant confimed the initial diagnosis made by my GP and explained that I had a choice between surgery with or without a preceding biopsy, thus expediting early removal.
Surgery was set to occur at a mutually convenient time. (within two weeks)
The consultant deserves to be mentioned personally since his "bedside" manner and treatment of my condition were exemplary.
However, it requires more than one person to deliver EXCELLENT care and I can further state that everybody in the Team from Reception, to pre-surgery preparation (wrist band confirmation etc., to the Theatre staff (and including the cleaning lady on the ward) made the whole experience memorable for all the right reasons.
Well done to the Skin & Cosmetic Surgery department TEAM.
There is still a lot to be grateful for despite the pressures on the NHS system.
I wonder why the review that I left in the Department at the time did not find it's way to this site?
"It would be hard to beat the level of service I..."
