"Good luck getting an appointment. Rude staff"

About: Church Street Medical Ctr

I cannot get appointment now the two practices have merged and getting repeat medication for my son who has a heart condition, and my daughter is almost impossible. The staff cant wait to get off the phone and are very unhelpful. I do not drive and have an ill new born and a 2 year old so I have to go when i can get there. I was advised that there wasn't any appointments for two weeks but they would see if a Dr would call me in 4 days. I wasn't advised when the appointments were. Before I finished my query she said ok bye then? Too busy for people. I'm seriously looking at another practice as I cannot play with my son it isn't a cold he has. I'm left frustrated and feeling very depressed again as I never get anywhere. The mergeing if the practices is a total desaster and the attitude given by staff shows they aren't happy with it either.

Hi. We're very sorry to learn that you feel you have had a bad experience here at Eastwood Primary Care Centre.

The merged practice's system is designed to provide appropriate access to patients – so patients are seen by an appropriate clinician within an appropriate timeframe.

If patients need to be seen on the day urgently, this request is triaged by a GP (that morning). The GP will assess the request and decide the course of treatment and urgency – be that to allocate an urgent appointment with an appropriate healthcare professional, offer a routine appointment in the Planned Care Site , issue a prescription, etc. The priority for an urgent appointment is the timing and to be seen by an appropriate clinician.

A patient can make a routine appointment with any GP (or preferred GP). As the Doctors work shifts across both the Urgent Care Centre and Planned Care Centre, there is usually a longer wait for routine appointments.

We are sorry you felt the staff were too busy for people and your call came to an end before you had finished your query. This is certainly not our intention and we are working on these matters to constantly improve our customer service.

We would most welcome the opportunity to discuss these matters further with you so we can address, not only any general issues but, those specific to you. Please contact Sarah Petter or Anita Smith at the Surgery.
