"Treated appallingly by staff. Wasted costs and..."

About: Leicester General Hospital / Urology

2 weeks ago I had surgery for kidney stone. I wasted several doctors other staff 2 ambulances 4 paramedics time before arriving where I needed to be with known problem. This after 7 hours in agony! What a waste of time and resources. Arrived at the General the doctors and subsequent theatre staff and treatment were good. The staff on the ward treated me appallingly. Incorrect paperwork left me without painkillers etc. The next day I was prepped for theatre. I was told 2 hours . I did not expect to be a priority but I expected information and help.

That passed asked several times what was happening. No feed back. 7 hours later I was told by staff and my wife who had phoned the hospital they were on their way to collect me. Nothing happened. More requests no feedback. No how are you, no painkillers, just totally ignored by at least 7 seperate staff. I had not eaten for over 2 days ! After 11 hours and nearly walking out, and desperately asking to see person in charge I was told by a staff nurse that I had already been ignored by sorry I forgot I'm on charge. 3 hours later I was finally told op was cancelled. Finally had a poor sandwich. The next day had op great. Dishcharged with no information or what to expect next day at home had lot of pain bleeding etc called the hospital spoke to ward "I was on I don't remember you call your GP" nothing about how are you etc. 5 phone calls later spoke to doctor. Not much help. Had stent removed filled in matrons complaint form . No reply after 7 days of course. Under the health and safety at work act and I presume NHS regulations you had a legal duty of care for me. This was breached resulting in me being in uneccessary pain, suffering and very stressed. I have worked with systems and quality in manufacturing. After 70 years you appear to be 40 years behind in management techniques. Much of my treatment was uneccessary rework wasting money and resources. My expectation of any response is very low.
