"Removing stitches from small op done at doctors..."

About: Auckley Surgery

My daughter had a minor op at doctors on Monday that needed stitches that needed removing after 7- 10 days. She has tried to make an appointment to get them removed to be told they can only do that on Wednesdays! She is working in London Wed and Thurs next week, so was told that there is nothing they can do as they only have a nurse available to remove stitches on WEDNESDAYS! She was told to go to A&E. How ridiculous!!! She was not told the facts to start with. The receptionists are rude, nosey and unprofessional. I have been in the surgery when the phone has rang, I have been in mid conversation with a receptionist and they have stopped talking to me, answered the phone where I’ve heard a full conversation that should be private (names included) and had appointments booked over me when I am stood in front of them and being ignored.

I think that Receptionists who take calls should not where patients are waiting because conversations can be heard in the waiting room which is extremely unprofessional and staff should be trained to be more confidential.

I hope my daughter manages to come to some arrangement because it’s not only doctors that are very busy and if her stitches overgrow and get infected we will be looking for answers from you!!! We will also be reporting this to our MP, and are considering the free press.
