I had a gastric band fitted in 2012, all went well and I managed to live a significant amount of weight.
For over 18 months, I've been suffering with abdominal pain, pelvic pain and shoulder pain.
I phoned the nurses at Derby Royal and they offered me an x-ray in October 2017.
During the x-ray it showed that my band had actually disconnected and the tubing was floating around my pelvis area and the actual port had become twisted..... Both were causing me terrible pain.
I then saw the consultant who confirmed this and said I needed it to be reattached.
Anyway, I've waited for months, still suffering pain, after numerous phone calls, I was offered an operation this month.
Anyway, 9.30 that morning, I receive a call saying my operation is cancelled.
Fair enough - but no idea of when I'm going to be booked in..... Plus, I'm still in pain. I've taken a total of 4 weeks off work due to chronic pain.
The nurses have been great, but I need my operation.
