"Queen Margaret day hospital tendon repair surgery"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

After a fall that tore my wrist open and severed my fcr tendon, I needed surgery from an experienced surgeon. I was nervous but the care I received from the ward staff and surgical team was so caring, proffesional and empathetic, I was put at ease. They explained everything to me at every step and treated me with dignity and respect. This is the second operation I have had in this ward and I cannot fault them. Praise and this all I have for everyone at the queen Margaret. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about my initial treatment at Victoria hospital accident and emergency before the operation. The staff there were rude and did not treat me well at all.

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback in Care Opinion, it is reassuring to see that the surgical team were caring, professional and empathetic and that you were treated with dignity and respect. It sounds like you've had quite a time with your injury and I hope your recovery is going well. I'm sorry to see that you felt your treatment at Accident and Emergency did not meet your expectation I will make sure the Senior Charge Nurse is made aware of your comments.
