"Desiree."

About: University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust

My sister was admitted to Southampton General through the ED via an ambulance from Guildford Road Chandlers Ford around 20 days ago. She is still an in patient in Ward G5 under a DOL order !

I was visiting in laws with Desiree when she became ill. Since her admission into this ward she has received excellent health care and much needed tests have been carried out. I had to return to my home in Bowral New South Wales Australia last Friday 13/07/18 and we were both distressed on Thursday evening when I said adieu to each other. The process of assisting my only sibling to return home to family and friends has been made easier by the quality of care on the ward. Desiree had low sodium levels and was very confused when she arrived there. Since admission she had a fall on the ward which resulted in alarmed deep gash to her cranium. This was stapled by the doctor a junior attached to G5 the following afternoon. The wound required 9 staples which hopefully will be removed soon.

I spoke with Desiree this morning around 9pm GMT from my home.

The family have provided a return Premium Economy ticket for travel to Sydney as soon as the DOL is lifted and a suitable transfer and flight can be arranged. Her British passport will be released to Desiree once I satisfy them that we are indeed sisters. I will attend the New South Wales Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages on Monday 16 July 2018.

Thanking all staff involved in the care of

Desiree during her stay in Ward G5 Southampton General Hospital.

Yours sincerely

Avril Veronica.
