"Generally good at Avenue Medical Centre"

I find Avenue Medical Centre generally very good, the doctors are very considerate, and I have no problems with the care I receive.

My only issues are procedural ones. Firstly, you used to be able to ring up for a repeat prescription, then go and collect it, however now you have to take your prescription in to the surgery, which I find very inconvenient.

Secondly, I feel like there is an issue over continuity of care. There is a 2 week booking period, but if you want to see a particular doctor who knows you it can be very hard to do this. I think this is a big disadvantage - from my point of view I want to see the same doctor throughout my care.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on the service your received at the surgery. Unfortunately we are unable to receive prescripitons by telephone at the moment. This is for safety reasons. It is often easy to misunderstand drug names over the telephone. However, it is something that we are looking at very closely and we welcome your comments. As you are aware the appointment system changed recenlty in an effort to accommodate patient's needs. The new appointment system is being reviewed regularly.
