"SLT Social Communication Workshop"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Adult Speech and Language Therapy

(as a parent/guardian),

The workshop in Airdrie was ran over two 2 hourly sessions and it was to support parents/ carers with children who have social and communication difficulties. The information given was really useful and we were given lots of different strategies to use to figure out which ones suit our kids best.

There were only 6 families at the workshop which I felt was good as it seemed more personal and relaxed. It also helped to discuss our children's behaviour with other parents who are going through the same situation.

Lastly the lady who ran the workshop was lovely, she was very helpful and answered all questions and queries anyone had about their kids.

Speech and language therapy provides treatment, support and care for children and adults who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.

Dear Chico15

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of speech and language therapy.

I am glad that you found the information helpful and hope that you find some of the strategies work for you and your family.

We always find that parents are really supportive to one another and that this is a good aspect of the workshops.

I will certainly pass your feedback on to the SLT team at Airdrie.

I hope your story will help other parents who are considering attending a workshop.

Kindest regards

Pauline
