This waiting area is very small and box like, with no windows. The door into the hall has to be closed at all times 'because it's a fire door'!
Consequently the heat is unbearable on warm days.
I realise that the building is old and there's not much money available for improvements, but what I am going to suggest is doable.
There are two small speakers on the wall which are neither used or ornamental.
Couldn't a small fan be put up there so that if patients have to wait a long time at least the air would be bearable.
I understand from the receptionists that nothing can be done because the door has to be kept closed.
In other words, files are rules.
This would not be acceptable if these conditions prevailed in the main hospital.
There is not even a cold water drinking facility available,.
There's a notice up near the main reception that says ask a member of staff if you want a drink of water, but most of the podiatry patients don't see that when they arrive.
If this post can be forwarded to those that matter perhaps it would help.......so here's a message for management.
