"4 hours in pain"

About: Conquest Hospital

I am extremely disappointed in the treatment I received. I was in severe pain all over my abdomen and only after 3 hours did anyone give me a painkiller. After this the staff went home and left me in the waiting room without any help or further information and acknowledgement. The only person who asked me if I was ok was the ward clerk. The doctor didn’t read my notes so didn’t even know my situation and health issues. Really angry and appalled by the care given

Dear Katie,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback about your experience of services at Conquest Hospital; the Trust is committed to providing a high standard of care for patients, and it is therefore of concern and disappointment that this has not been your experience. Please accept our apologies for the discomfort and distress caused as every patient should be treated with care and compassion, and have confidence in the staff providing it. We very much hope that the abdominal pain you describe having has now been assessed and treated, that you are now more comfortable, and are on the path to recovery. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experience of care and see if we can be of any further assistance. If you are able to, then please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) by email at esh-tr.palsh@nhs.net or you can call them on 01424 758090.
