"Recent practice merger"

About: Trafalgar Medical Group Practice

Have recently (July 2018) merged with The Eastney Practice. Since then I have only had 2 interactions with them.

The first regarding a repeat prescription, which, although I have been a patient at The Eastney Practice (Highland Road) for over 20 years sent my prescription to their Osborne Road premises (what makes them suddenly think I wish to travel a couple of miles to pick it up, when I usually walk the 150 metres to Highland Road). I'm told it's because I requested it online (as I usually do) and didn't indicate in the comments which surgery I wanted to pick it up from. No indication or notification online that this is what was required. I then had to wait a further 2 days to have another prescription printed, signed and made available at the Highland Road surgery.

Secondly, I was phoned, by the surgery (yes, I do have it on my call log) in response to some information I was asked to provide (in the firm of a letter), to arrange an appointment to see a specific doctor. I duly turned up, in plenty of time for my appointment, to be told they had no appointment booked for me, no indication that I'd ever been phoned and had no idea what it was all about. The only record they had of a phone call to me was to tell me my prescription was ready, which, in fact, never happened. The assistant on reception had now made a note for the relevant doctor to call me - hopefully, although I'm not sure when that will be.

If this is any indication of what is happening to other patients, then methinks this practice is in need of some proper process planning and training.
