I was sent to Kings Mill on their request from Newark with a suspected Pulmonary Embolism. I got to kings Mill at around 11.30am and was een fairly quickly and was sent to the majors section and was told to sit down and a doctor would come and see me. After 2 hours I got up and asked at the desk what was going on and was told I was next. Another hour passed and a nurse came to me and said I was off to get a ct scan and still no doctor. Had the scan and after 2 hours waiting for the doctor to give me the results of the scan I went and asked would it be much longer. Looks like it was the answer so I asked if I could have the cannula taken out so I could go home. I was told to wait a minute or two and they came back and asked if I'd had the scan! It was at that point I asked to go home as I'd lost the will to live and still hadn't seen a doctor in nearly 6 1/2 hours! Not once was there any communication about what was going on the only time I was spoken to on the ward was when I instigated it plus I'd not eaten or drank since 5am so it was difficult for the scan team to get a cannula in. An experience of hopelessness and despair
"^ hours without seeing a doctor!"
