I was referred to St. Peter's A. & E. Department by our local 'walk in centre' following a very nasty dog bite - it was felt that a surgeon should assess the injury.
I was seen immediately by the Nurse who called the doctor in to give an opinion.
The Nurse treated the wound, keeping me informed throughout, and recommended that I return two days later for the wound to be examined for infection and re-dressed.
I was also prescribed an antibiotic.
Throughout my treatment at St. Peter's Hospital I was treated with consideration and efficiency and a gentle optimism was present throughout .
As can be imagined, I was in considerable discomfort and shock, but was very much comforted by the kindness of the Nurse and all her team.
I could not be more grateful.
