We registered with this practice last October and we were initially impressed. I even wrote a very positive review on here, it seems that I was somewhat premature.
Our experience of the GPs hasn’t been positive. They struggle to do basic things such as prescriptions correctly. They call you in for appointments following letters they have received from hospital consultants and then when you arrive ask why you have come to see them and have no record of why you have been called in.
We made an appointment to see the GP over a specific issue and the doctor spent most of the time discussing my boyfriends blood pressure and blood tests from 18 months earlier. We then had to tell him why we were there as he never actually asked. He sent my boyfriend for BP monitoring and blood tests.
When we phoned several weeks later half the results hadn’t even been reviewed.
We were informed of the results over the phone by the receptionist who advised my boyfriend to change his diet. No advice as to how to or where to find appropriate advice.
The reception staff are usually pretty good and the practice nurse is excellent. The practice manager has also been very helpful.
Unfortunately we haven’t got anything positive to say about our dealings with any of the doctors.
We are now in the process of registering with a new GP surgery.
"We’re moving to a new practice."
