"Calm, pleasant and relaxing."

About: Wexham Park Hospital

What I liked

All the staff were considerate and professional, not just the medical staff but the ancillary workers also. A very relaxed but competent atmosphere put all us patients in a calm frame of mind. My first experience of being hospitalised will be remembered by me for all the right reasons.

I was treated as part of the process and felt included in all the stages of treatment. I was given choice between general anaesthetic and epidural, and chose epidural which was quite amazing – full consciousness with no pain - even conversing with anaesthetist during the procedure, and having procedure explained whist watching on the monitor above my head.

Anything else?

A big thank you to all the team of the Urology Department for making my first experience of both a surgical procedure and several days stay as an in patient, such a pleasant experience, dispelling all the fears and stress that was building up to the time of my admission.
