"Termination"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

Went in for a necessary termination.

Wasn't informed of wast they were doing or what was going to happen.

Given pessary and then was heavy bleeding.

Was distressed and was told, well what do you expect to happen. Wanted to call my mum.

Request denied.

The nurse was extremely rude and judgemental even though it was necessary and not through choice. I was scared and was traumatic enough.

Awful treatment given. I feel that they did something wrong and was trying to cover it up.

I wasn't informed about anything. No aftercare or Councelling offered following.

I am very sorry to hear of your experience at such a difficult time for you; this is not the standard of care we expect our patients to receive. I have shared your comments with senior staff, and as it is not possible to discuss your personal issues in this forum, I would ask that you have not done so already you contact the Trust via the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01984 534850, and they will put you in touch with the relevant manager to discuss your experience with.

Please accept our apologies for your experience of care at our Trust.
