(as the patient),

During my recent admission to psychiatric inpatients, the support I received from my community psychiatric nurse and psychologist proved invaluable.

I was in a hospital outside of the area I live, which meant every week both my CPN and Psychologist travelled out of area to come and see me.

Both came weekly religiously, communicated well with the ward staff and provided me with the best possible care. I'm almost certain that if it hadn't been for their support, I would have needed to stay in hospital longer than I did.

This was the first time the consultant had ever asked for my psychologist to continue weekly appointments during my stay on the ward, and he supported me so much throughout. My CPN came to every ward review, and she also brought me home on leave so I could check on my house and pets.

Thank you so much to EW and AH for all your support, but particularly over this difficult time - it really is appreciated :)

It is always satisfying to know that what we do is appreciated. I will certainly pass on your comments to the staff in question and hope we area able to always provide the level of service that supports you fully.
