Late May I had an endoscopy and a tumour was found very low in my rectum. Within 30 days I had surgery to remove the tumour. Before the operation I was introduced to some of the Stoma nurses who would guide and advise me through the procedure and beyond. When I was told that the operation would leave me with very little control of my bowels it came as a bit of a shock. I had a long chat with Jess from the Stoma team who explained in layman’s terms how life would be post operation.
