"Chronic Pain Management Course"

About: Kettering General Hospital / Pain Management

3 weekly sessions offered to assist in Pain Management.

I attended this course and found it extremely helpful. The main function of the group sessions( 3 on the course l attended) was to discuss coping with pain strategies, explain what is pain, the stages of pain and how so many different factors can affect pain.

The two members of staff running the course were very welcoming, compassionate and arranged the setting to enable open and frank dialogue which in itself was very informative.

Allowing others to talk about their own pain with fellow sufferers was most beneficial.

We were provided with various handouts to take away.

All in all a great course which l would encourage anyone suffering with Chronic Pain to attend.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

We are delighted to receive such great feedback relating to your experience on the Pain Education Programme. Our aim is to help patients improve their quality of life by teaching them strategies and techniques to cope with their on-going problems. It was also brilliant to know that you found the environment welcoming  and relaxed to enable you to express your feelings openly and honestly. We endeavour to be a caring compassionate service. Kind regards

Mary Coleman
