I would like to leave my review as I think this is an extremely important moment and the parents should have as much information as possible.
My husband and I were referred to the St Marys birthing centre. We had a tour there at 37 weeks and one appointment with a midwife at my 38 week. The birthing centre has 5 rooms of which two have birthing pools. The rooms we have been are large enough and have everything you need. The staff explained in great detail everything that was going to happen and practicalities during our tour. They have been always very knowledgebale and kind with us.
Our baby decided to arrive when I was 39 weeks, and since the moment that I start calling them around midnight to explain my contractions and etc, they have always provided the reassurance and comfort that I needed. I arrived in the hospital perhaps a little bit before I was supposed to, but the senior midwife has assessed my situation (scan was performed straight away to check baby's position) and decided that I could stay in one of the rooms.
The reassurance and knowledge provided by the staff since the beggining and the very calm and relaxing environment were decisive for our experience to be great. I could not thank the staff enough, and would highly recommend this facility and staff to anyone that is open to have a natural birth experience.
Thank you so much for guiding us through this truly amazing experience. Thank you to staff for taking care of us after the birth.
