What I liked

staff were amazing and friendly during my staff. found it good that nursing staff done hand overs at end of my bed for me and I knew what was going on.

Found them very accomodating and helpful and professional.

Doctors were hit and miss with ward rounds and unfortunately majority of time it was left to the registrar to see me, which was disappointing as did not receive the support of the consultant.

But all in all amazing experience.

What could be improved

cleaner water, jugs of water changed more often.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your recent stay in the Neurosurgery department, RVI. Our staff aspire to the highest standards at all times and aim to fully involve patients in discussions and decisions about their care. Your comments have been passed onto the Directorate Manager and Matron who will be encouraged by your positive feedback. Your comments about being seen by the Registrar on ward rounds is noted, and we are keen to reassure you that the Registrar is a senior member of the medical team who works under the supervision of the Consultant responsible for your care. Whilst the Consultant may not have always been present at the ward round they will have been kept informed about your progress, and senior advice provided if needed.

With regard to the water jugs, please accept our apologies that water wasn’t changed as often as you felt it should have been. Staff on the ward change the water jugs twice per day as a minimum but will obviously replenish the water more often if necessary. We are sorry that you report that this did not happen on this occasion.
