On holiday in Turkey last week I experienced servere stomach ache. It was like someone twisting my insides in a knot. I stayed in bed for 2 days. I had nausea , stomach cramps and a bad pain under my chest. I took painkillers that didn't work.I couldn't eat and only sipped water. We flew home and went straight to A&E at Great Western Hospital in Swindon last Thursday evening, I had previously been to GWH for treatment for bursitis and leg pain but never A&E, so my details were on file. The lady who booked me in was extremely friendly and helpful.I was seen in triage quite quickly and given medication that took the awful pain under my chest away. I had blood tests which showed I was dehydrated. I also had a stomach bug that I could of caught in Turkey. I was given a prescription for a week of medication which I have finished today and I'm back to normal. I'd like to praise all the medical staff in GWH for all their hard work patience and kindness. Thank you very much my wonderful treatment.
"Excellent service"
