"no longer doing minor surgeries"

About: Helios Medical Centre

I've been at Helios for a couple of years, and even though you have to wait a while for a routine appointment, I have been seen on the same day when I was in need of antibiotics for a chest infection. The surgery works very well with NHS 111 in that respect.

The surgery is spacious and it never feels crowded, and there is a lovely garden to look at while you wait for your appointment. The phone is always answered and the staff are all lovely. There is a also a good sized car park.

I'm going to have to register elsewhere though as I have just discovered that they no longer do minor surgery at the practice, which means since like skin tags, cysts etc cannot be dealt with. They have subscribed to another service called GP care who provide various services on the NHS, but who charge for minor skin surgeries. I have discovered that the removal of a large cyst on my scalp would cost £600. I can't afford that, and the cyst is starting to poke through my hair. Half a mile away is another GP surgery who offer minor surgery for free, so it is with a heavy heart that I will move.
